I know that i said last week was my last week emailing but i have a few minutes to tell yall how my last week went. Im just gonna send pictures!

My Dsitrict Killed Me!
my district killed me!
and lots of goodbyes
This is my last time emailing… I never thought this time would ever come…I have never had so many emotions at once. Ending my mission is harder than starting my mission. But i know that it has to happen and i have to accept it. But before i get into all of that theres some really awesome things that are coming up this week! First off, Elder Rasband from the quorum of the 12 apostles is coming to speak to the stake im serving in on Sunday! Im super stoked to hear the words of another apostle! Lucky me, ill still be here. Also. Lauren Tijerina is getting baptized tisSunday!!! Im so excited for her to finally get baptized. Last thing, my recent convert Mike bore one of the most powerful conversion testimonies ive ever heard this week. Its undescribable the feeling of knowing you have brought a soul unto Christ, buit not only that, but to hear their firm testimony and see it change them completely.
Being a missionary for my Savior Jesus Christ has made me the happiest i have ever been. This mission has changed my life. It has transformed me completely. This is my joy, bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone around me. I have come to know my Savior personally and I have come to know my purpose here. I know that our life has a purpose and that purpose is to prepare ourselves to live with God again. I love Gods plan for us and i know its perfect. Even though we have our trials and our hard times, its worth it! We are learning, growing, and progressing. Its what God wants for us. I know that the only way back to our Heavenly Father is through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. This is the ONLY way. I know that the Church of Jesus CHrist of Latter Day Saints is The one and only church of Christ. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ, and because of that we have his gospel. I know the Book of Mormon is true. It testifies of Christ and His Atonement and how we can apply it in our lives. I will never deny that book. I know that my Savior lives and that his grace is sufficient!
I love yall so much! Thank you for being my support as I have served the Lord. I know my mission isnt over yet, i have ETERNITY to go!
Mike in his white shirt and tie!! and Maria 🙂
I had such an amazing spirit filled week! First off my convert Mike Bustos passed the sacrament for the first time and paid his tithing!!! I also was able to have an interview with President Hall. Towards the end of my interview he looked at me and said ” Hermanita stop worrying your Heavenly Father wants you to know that you are prepared to go home.” Ive come to realize more that I really am ready and that theres so much more in store when i end my mission. I just gotta put my all into the last few weeks i have and leave no regrets and return with honor!
The best part about my week was President Russell M. Nelson coming to our mission. He answered every single question and doubt that i had. He is so filled with the spirit and truly is an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. He left special blessings on us also. The closing song at the conference was I know that my Redeemer lives. As i watched him as he sang that hymn you could see that he truly knew that his Savior lives and that he knew him. I want to add my testimony to that as well that I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know we can not only overcome death but also sin through him. He is my Lord and my Savior and I will always be a disciple of Him. Even though i cant wear this nametag forever, His name is written on my heart and my lips.
Mija! (my daughter)
So while my companions eat lunch, this is what i do…
guess who came to visit me!? My converts Connie, Fito and Ivanna!
I have two weeks left…i never thought the time would fly this fast. I feel like theres just not enough time to do everything that i want to do. But im learning more than i have my whole mission. whats pretty funny is ever since i got my flight information i see planes everywhere!
Well as you can see we had a rough week with some people being possessed and having to cast out devils again. It happened two days in a row! One of them was telling us that he was Christ and the other was being cursed by someone who worships santa muerte. It was pretty crazy to see people that i love possessed but atleast we got it out of them. I never thought that this stuff was that common…but i guess it is.
Because i am training a new missionary, we had a training with President Hall about the Atonement on Thursday. I was able to see the testimony that i have of my Savior and the healing power of His Atonement. I know that His Atonement is sufficient for all. It covers every sin. There is not one person out there who is not covered by the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As long as we do our part and use the Atonement to repent we receive his mercy and grace. I know this to be true. His Atonement has healed me and transformed me and i know it can do the same for yall. I love my Savior more than anything and i cant wait till he comes again to reign. I love this scripturee in the Book of Mormon in Alma 37:36
Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
I know that this is true. As we put all the affections of our hearts upon Him and let him guide us thats when we have strength and we can get through anything. I know he loves each and every one of you. NEVER forget that!
We went to the natural science museum on monday!
Maria Escobar let me lay in her El Salvador Hammock
Sad to say but i have less than a month left to serve the Lord as a full time missionary. I know that there are bigger and better things after the mission and that things will only get better but its really hard to think that i have to leave these people and no longer wear this name tag on my heart. But its not time yet! Im gonna make this time worth it.
We had a really awesome miracle last weekend! We have been working with Lauren Tijerina who is a 16 year old daughter of a member. She is not a member and we have been trying to get her to accept baptism but for some reason she was scared to get baptized. Well last weekend she went to a Youth Conference and called us after it and told us she felt the spirit so strong while she was there and that she had the strong impression that she needed to get baptized and that she needs to serve a mission when she gets to that age. She then realized that she really did have a testimony and that she is ready to be baptized!!! As we have been teaching her she has always said that she wants to be baptized on a Holiday, and before i go home. So she now has a baptismal date for Feb 14th! We are so excited for her!!!
Its been a little hard with me about to go home and Hermana Anderson going home next transfer. Our poor baby Hermana Hafoka has to send both her moms home in the time of her training. But she is doing awesome and is ready to take over the area soon. Also an apostle is coming to our mission this weekend!! Russell M. Nelson! I cant wait to hear the counsel he has for us. I know that the words of the prophets and apostles are directly from Heavenly Father and that they are servants of the Lord.
Well i dont have much time to write today but i love yall!!!
Borracho Beans! that means drunk beans lol
Well biggest news this week is we picked up my baby! Her name is Hermana Hafoka! She is from St. George but she is Tongan 🙂 She is such a trooper because she is killing me ( which in mission terms means she is sending me home) and then right after me she is killing Hermana Anderson. So she is killing both her trainers and she is gonna have to take over the area when we leave. But she can totally do it. She already loves it here and is doing so good 🙂
This week has been awesome! We have been working so hard. We found a less active, part member family The zapata family. They are so awesome!! We are hoping to keep teaching them and help them progress. Also we got to do some service for Maria Escobar and paint her house. It was so fun! Its been such a beautiful thing to see her grow as a new member and see her interact with the members. We also met this really awesome guy Sam Anderson. Of course he speaks English so we had to hand him over to the Elders but itsa pretty cool miracle that we found him. We were walking up to a door about to knock and i saw him sitting in front of his house all alone so we went over and introduced ourselves. He was so happy and so receptive. He told us a little bit about his life and i guess his daughter was murdered and he has recently had a stroke and lives all alone now. He said hes looking for God and wants guidance. Ive heard life stories like this before but this one really touched my heart and for a split second i could see that potential that Heavenly Father has for him. It was such an amazing experience and i cant wait to see what comes out of the Elders teaching him. We are finding lots of new people to teach and just working hard!
Also my birthday was yesterday and some of the families in the branch threw me a surprise dinner with cake and everything. It was so sweet!! Definitely an unforgetable birthday. But the biggest gift was being about to be the Lords servant. This is such a big honor and i never want it to end but i know there are even bigger honors to come 🙂
Yes this is president Hall riding an Hermanas bike around during transfers lol
P.s. also MLK day was INSANE here because theres a street called MLK. There was so much craziness and gangs uniting for that day. Lets just say it wasnt a good day for us white girls to be out… lol
Well i had the best Christmas ever!!! Not only did i get to talk to my family but Maria Escobar got baptized! Even though it was 80 degrees outside we had a white Christmas with Maria 🙂 She told us that she had her first peaceful night of sleep in 10 years (because of the problems she was having with bad spirits). She is so happy! On Sunday when she got confirmed she bore her testimony. Its amazing to see the change in her and see her be a part of Christs church ad to know that she now has the remission of her sins. Heavenly Father finally broke the chains of this area, this area has finally had a baptism after almost a year and a half!
My goal for these last 2 months of my mission is to bring as much souls unto Christ as i can! I gonna work even harder. Hopefully me and Hermana Anderson can stay together in this area because we work so well together and we get things done. I am going to be the best missionary i can be and teach everyone i see! Im ready to work 🙂
I love yall so much and hope you have a Happy New Year!
Hermana Goodey came back for the baptism!
i got to see some of my old companions at our christmas conference!
