I just want to start out by saying that All Blessings come because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This week we learned a lot about the real meaning of the sacrament. My mission president challenged us to take a half hour each Saturday to think about your whole week and think of what you want to sacrifice for the Savior, and to pray for that half hour with all our heart. I have never had such a spiritual experience in my life. I have never felt so close to the Savior and really know him. He really is EVERYTHING. Ive also learned a lot about humility. We cant do anything without humility. (D&C 12:7-8) Trials are a blessing they bring us closer to God and Christ(2 nephi 26:24) We need to accept and act on the Lords correction to us. Sometimes we think we can do it on our own, believe it or not this is pride. Pride is the lack of trust and love for God.
Wow lots happened this week….LOTS OF MIRACLES!
So we only have maybe like 30 people that attend church each sunday. We are having a hard time with getting people to be active in church and to their callings. SO we have planned with our bishop to get the members going and rekindle the feeling of their conversion. So me and Hermana Smith go and visit all the LARCs(Less active/recent converts) In our area and to our surprise ALL but 4 of them have moved. And they havnt moved recently its been like years. Im so glad we are getting this ward going and figuring out who really is in the ward. Because we first need to strengthen our ward if we want investigators to progress in this ward and when their converted to stay active. I actually had a really cool experience with a less active guy in our ward named Eleazar. We have been trying to get him to come to church and he says he will and he never does. So we had a “throwdown” with him. He told us he was embarrassed to come back to church. So I told him theres two things Heavenly Father wants you to know, First is He loves you and you have so much potential for leadership in this church but you need to get to work and second no body elses opinion matters, the only person you need to please is God. He was so thankful for what I told him and he said it cut him right to the heart. I don’t know how I said all that in Spanish but all I know is Heavenly Father will have said what needs to be said.
So some crazy news! Josef (the little boy that was suppose to be baptized but his mom changed her mind) is in the hospital really sick with something in his stomach. First thing Reina (his mom) asks for is a priesthood blessing from our elders! I know we planted that seed in her and that she is gonna come around! Just please pray for Josef.
I think I may have told you guys about Rosa last week, but she is so prepared! she cant wait to be baptized. She is the cutest little old lady, she calls me and Hermana Smith her Ninas bonitas! I love her so much and hopes she keeps progressing. Please pray for her and her husband Francisco to keep progressing towards their baptism date.
Overall this week has been pretty rough and tirng, but awesome and full of miracles! I love you guys so much and im thankful for your support!!
P.s. Knowing that the gospel is true is the essence of a testimony. Consistently being true to the gospel is the essence of conversion. (Omni 1:26)
Heres a picture of Rosa!
